Michael Murphy is the owner and founder who brings over 36 years of arboricultural expertise to lead Preservation Tree Care's team of certified arborists and tree workers.

"We strive everyday to be the best that we can be, while never forgetting that our roots are firmly planted in customer service. We are dedicated to investing in the most current and technologically advanced methods of tree care and making them available to all of our customers."

Michael can usually be found on the road anywhere between Bray's Island and Palmetto Bluff proposing work and consulting on various jobs. When he is not trying to save the world through recycling…well….EVERYTHING, he can usually be found trolling the waters of Beaufort in his kayak. Michael has a lovely wife Mary and is also a grandpa to Patrick and Katie.

Derrick Wells is a certified arborist with 15 years of experience. He is proud to say that 11 of those years have been spent with Preservation Tree Care. He is the company Operations Manager and sales consultant. When he is not meeting with clients, his time is spent organizing crews, scheduling work, and putting out "fires" .

Derrick's personal time is spent with his enchanting wife and 2 wonderful kids at their small farm in Hampton County. Derrick enjoys furniture making and is an avid biker.

Kersty Kinsey is our Office Manager. She has 9 years experience in the tree care industry. She began working for Preservation Tree Care after the birth of her first child in 2003. She takes care of the day-to-day operations of the business office as well as being the Queen Bee. Kersty can usually be seen at her crowded desk surrounded by 2056 sticky notes and a large vat of some type of caffeinated beverage. In her time away from Preservation Tree Care, she likes to hang out with her husband, William and kids, Lukas and Darby. And she loves to vacation in places that are tropical…..with not a lot of trees.

Jordan Rountree is our Administrative Assistant. She works part time in the office as well as attending school at TCL. Jordan is undecided on what she wants to do for a career, but is leaning towards nursing. So, until she figures it out, she is hanging around with us. Jordan manages the phones and does most of the billing and payroll. If you ever call and the phone is answered by a giggling girl, that would be Jordan. Jordan loves all things "Carolina", her dachshund, Reese, and her boyfriend, Michael. Jordan likes to vacation in the Keys whenever she gets a chance.
